Tech billionaires are on notice as the only private island in San Francisco Bay, Red Rock Island, is set to be listed for $25 million. Spanning approximately 6 acres, this vacant, domed land mass is situated near the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, north of San Francisco.
The island, a local landmark accessible by boat or helicopter, has been owned by the Durning family for decades. Chris Lim of Christie’s International Real Estate, the listing agent, envisions the potential for a grand residence atop the island. Although zoned for residential use, the exact number of homes that could be constructed remains uncertain.
Describing the island as a "Mark Rothko" or "Leonardo da Vinci" of collectible real estate, Lim emphasizes its uniqueness and allure.
